Midlife Awakening: Why Now Is the Perfect Time to Step Into Your Healing Gifts
Oct 08, 2025
There comes a time in many women’s lives when the roles that once defined us begin to feel like clothes that no longer fit. They’ve stretched, frayed, and worn thin with use. We’ve given ourselves so fully to them—mother, partner, daughter, wife, carer—that it can feel almost unthinkable to set them down.
For years, perhaps decades, we’ve shown up for everyone else. We’ve held together households, friendships, careers. We’ve poured ourselves into the needs of others, often without question. And yet, if we are honest, the question has always been there—quiet, persistent, waiting for its moment:
“What about me? When is it my turn?"
At first, we brush it aside. Later, it grows louder. Until one day, it no longer whispers—it insists...
The Ache We Don’t Always Talk About
This is the part we don’t always share out loud. The heartbreak that comes with realising how much of ourselves we have set aside for everyone else. The guilt that rises when we imagine stepping out of the role of caretaker. The wobble in confidence that makes us ask: Do I really have what it takes to do this differently?
Sometimes we even fear our own desire. Because if we say yes to ourselves—what might fall apart? What might shift in the family, the partnership, the friendships that have come to rely on us being a certain way?
And yet, beneath that fear is another truth: staying small hurts more.
Midlife as Initiation
Midlife is so often framed as loss, decline, or crisis. But in many spiritual traditions, it’s the opposite—it’s initiation. It’s the moment where heartbreak turns into fertile ground. Where the voices of doubt make way for the deeper knowing of your soul.
It’s not about walking away from everything you’ve built. It’s about bringing the full weight of your wisdom to the surface. It’s about saying yes to the parts of you that have waited patiently—the healer, the guide, the woman who no longer needs permission.
This is a chapter where confidence is no longer about proving yourself to others. It’s about remembering who you are.
A New Beginning
If you’ve trained in other healing modalities, you’ll know this work has a way of calling you back to yourself. The techniques, the clients, the hours of holding space—all of it points toward something deeper.
This is the moment to listen. To let your gifts step forward. To allow yourself to become the practitioner, the leader, the woman you always suspected you could be.
And if you haven’t walked with us before, that’s okay. You don’t need to have the map. You don’t need to have all the answers. You will be met exactly where you are.
This November, a group of women will gather in the Gold Coast Hinterland, at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat. Ancient trees. Flowing waters. A place that remembers cycles of death and rebirth and invites us to do the same.
It won’t be about adding more to your to-do list. It will be about arriving. Exhaling. Listening. And stepping forward into a chapter that has always been waiting for you. If you feel the call, you’ll know.
Come as you are. Leave with deeper roots, stronger wings, and the remembrance of who you’ve always been.
If you’d like to know more, you can book your spot now—or, if you’d prefer to talk it through, Rhiannon is always available for a gentle conversation to see if it’s a fit for you.
